COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Supporting Central Texas

The Pasadena Strawberry Festival teamed up with local businesses and community volunteers to orchestrate a massive flood-relief drive for Central Texas in early July 2025. Over the span of just a few days, they collected and donated approximately $100,000 worth of vital supplies—including clothing, nonperishables, hygiene items, and more—based on demand from Kerr County emergency staff. With the Beauty Queens, Festival staff, and dozens of partners pitching in, these donations were packed, shipped, and delivered straight to the Hill Country, bringing much‑needed aid to families and first responders impacted by the devastating flooding . This initiative underscores the festival’s deep connection to both Pasadena and the greater Texas community—stepping in to help neighbors in need, even beyond its traditional hometown boundaries.
Scholarships
The Pasadena Strawberry Festival proudly awards $50,000 in scholarships annually to graduating seniors from Pasadena, Deer Park, La Porte, Clear Creek, and neighboring districts. These scholarships—typically $2,000 each—are distributed to around 25 outstanding students based on academic performance, community involvement, and leadership. Your support of the festival directly helps these young scholars pursue higher education, empowering many to become the first in their families to attend college and contributing to a brighter future for the entire community.

Fill The Bus
The Pasadena Strawberry Festival proudly supports the city’s annual “Fill the Bus” School Supply Drive, a community-wide initiative organized by the City of Pasadena, Pasadena ISD, and the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce. Each summer—typically late July—festival volunteers, including the Strawberry Festival’s own Beauty Queens and staff, help collect backpacks, notebooks, pens, and other essential school supplies for local students. These contributions empower teachers in Title I schools to equip their classrooms with materials that might otherwise come out of their own wallets. The festival’s involvement not only amplifies donations but also strengthens community bonds—demonstrating its commitment to supporting education in Pasadena every year.
Story Time
The Pasadena Strawberry Festival’s Beauty Queens take great pride in serving as community role models—and one of their most beloved traditions is visiting the Pasadena Public Library to read to children. Throughout the year, these queens host special storytime hours, sharing picture books, encouraging a love of reading, and inspiring young minds with interactive stories and conversations. Kids leave the library not only with fun memories and a growing interest in books, but also seeing confident, community-minded role models right in their neighborhood. It’s a heartfelt way the festival gives back—cultivating literacy, confidence, and community spirit in Pasadena’s youngest residents.

Christmas Cheer
Pasadena Strawberry Festival Beauty Queens to brighten the holidays at local senior living facilities. Each December, these young ambassadors often bring festive cheer—singing carols, handing out homemade holiday cards, and spending heartfelt time with residents. Through their warmth and personal engagement, the Beauty Queens help ensure that Pasadena-area seniors celebrate the season feeling seen, valued, and uplifted.

The Pasadena Strawberry Festival beauty queens proudly volunteer their time at the Pasadena Animal Shelter, helping care for animals in need and spreading love to every furry friend they meet. From walking dogs and cleaning kennels to assisting with adoption events, these young women show their dedication to community service by supporting one of the city’s most compassionate causes. Their involvement not only brings attention to the shelter but also inspires others to adopt, donate, or volunteer.
